It feels like there is so much to unpack and you don’t even know where to start. You've done therapy before, and it feels like you were able to talk about things, but that didn't change how you feel.

Hi, I’m Reannan.

She/ her pronouns

If you're into astrology, I'm a Libra sun, Leo rising, and Aries moon.

I am the seventh of eight total siblings — but the oldest of my parents' second round of kids. So I grew up in a big, blended family with all kinds of complicated relationship dynamics, some of which are still playing out today. I learned to cope by getting really good at reading between the lines, and by leaning on laughter, even when it was dark humor. I also got very good at thinking about things instead of feeling them — it was safer, and for a long time it worked.

Eventually, though, thinking my way through everything stopped being enough — my body kept holding onto what my mind had learned to talk around. I remember going into my first therapy session, feeling so overwhelmed and just thinking, “Where do I even start?” I know from my own experience that just talking about something doesn't actually change the way the mind and body hold onto it.

I found somatic therapy, and it changed everything for me. I completed the three year training program in Somatic Experiencing® and am now a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP). I continue to train and consult with the somatic community, along with EMDR and parts work, so I can bring that same kind of shift to the people I work with. Not just talking about what happened or is happening, but actually working with the body so something feels different, not just understood in the mind.

As a queer person, I know firsthand how much it matters to work with a therapist who already understands key parts of your life without you having to explain them first. I work primarily with queer adults, though I welcome anyone who feels this work is right for them — particularly those who've done therapy before and are ready for something that goes deeper.

If you’ve done the talking and you’re still waiting to actually feel different, that’s exactly what we work on together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is somatic therapy?

A: Somatic therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that treats the mind and body as interconnected, rather than working with thoughts and emotions on their own. Somatic approaches use body awareness, breath, movement, and attention to physical sensation alongside traditional talk therapy, to help release that stored stress and support the nervous system's ability to regulate itself. It's really an umbrella term, it includes specific modalities like Somatic Experiencing® and body-based elements found in approaches like EMDR.
